5.7 miles
There was a cold wind blowing at the dam but it warmed right up as soon as we turned into the woods. This hike was uneventful but pretty. The markers are spaced close together and the trail is clearly visible even with all the fallen leaves. There was only one somewhat steep downhill section where the dry leaves required careful footing. The swamp areas were surprisingly beautiful. There is a nice clearing facing a small pond with 2 granite benches that was nice for a rest and a snack. As usual there was zero wildlife, not even bugs on this trip. Weirdly out in the middle of nowhere there was a 10-12 foot aluminum ladder leaning against a tree. We only ran into 2 other people, woman walking 3 dogs. A nice, easy, quiet walk in the woods.
