Ending hike at Mt watatic

For those of you who have gone S-N, is there a place near the actual NH state line where hikers can be picked up by car, or do people really have to hike back out to the rte119 parking lot?

As a general comment, we have had two pedometers clocking the distance of each portion we've hiked, and even on portions with no reroutes, we've found that the actual mileage is usually 2-3 miles longer than what the guidebook, or Hiking Massachusetts (Benjamin B. Ames). Has anyone else noticed this?

The 119 lot is the easiest way to get out. There is a blue-blazed trail, which is very easy and mostly downhill.
