My friend and I just finished our hike the Mid-State, beginning our journey in Rhode Island. What a journey it was. In Rutland we ran into the swamps being flooded through the trail and had to blaze our own. Completely missed the reroute in Princeton and walked another 15 thousand steps to get to our car on the end of Wheeler Road by the railroad bridge. Not sure why the re-route sign was plced on Route 62 instead of near the bridge where the Guide book said parking could be found.
Overall, it was a great experience. We truly enjoyed our hours with Mother Nature.
Thank you Mid State Trail Committee for maintaining the trail and for allowing the general public to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
